Telemed5000-Stimme
The aim of this observational study is to collect measurement data (body weight, voice samples) from a maximum of 80 patients who receive regular hemodialysis treatment. The aim is to find out whether the voice changes depending on the water content of the body. In hemodialysis patients, water balance can be easily assessed through dialysis and a controlled fluid intake, which is why these patients were selected to participate in the study. As a comparison value, body weight will also be recorded daily with telemedical scales.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS in Sankt Augustin uses the data collected from all study participants to investigate whether there is a connection between the voice and the water content of the body.
In a later study (Telemed5000 heart failure), the findings will then be used in patients with chronic heart failure in order to identify and treat overhydration in the body at an early stage based on the patient's voice.
